| 02.06.2008 | UNDERSTANDING WITH CERTIFICATION BODY OF ITB WARSAWTesting laboratory of FIRES s.r.o. has signed the new version of Understanding with Certification Body of ITB Warsaw. This agreement means continuity in cooperation previously signed in 2005. There were no changes in the text of the Understanding, beside the update if the included information. The Understanding specify conditions for acceptance of tests carried out by FIRES s.r.o. Batizovce (accredited or non accredited) for certification purposes of ITB Warsaw.

| 14.8.2006 | ALL FIRE RESISTANCE TESTS RECORDED BY THERMO-CAMERACharging fees for the use of thermo-camera by our supplier has passed away. From now on, our clients can use our own thermo-camera FLIR ThermaCAM with wide angle 61° objective lens, and a filter up to +900°C. The use of thermo-camera by our clients is free.Pictures taken by thermo-camera (thermograms) are stored in our archive. For a small fee we provide our clients with thermograms with a freeware program, enabling to view thermograms and to find temperatures at any spot on the specimen at the moment of thermogram snapshot (of course including the possibility of setting the surface emissivity). Thermo-camera enables our clients to "look inside" the specimen and to visualise thermal bridges and potential design or technological flaws before they are displayed during the fire test. |

We offer 15% discount of fire resistance test price on condition that: - tests are carried out until 20.12.2006; - we determine the test date or several test dates to choose from. | 1.7.2006 | CE MARKING FOR SANDWICH PANELSEuropean technical specification for self-supporting insulating (sandwich) panels EN 14509: 2006 was approved by CEN in the spring of this year.We have several years experience in the testing and conformity assessment of mentioned products. We will become the Notified Body immediately after the standard will be published. Our clients will be able to use CE mark on their products and use the test results and issued documents of the conformity assessment in all EC countries. We are preparing the workshop on the autumn of this year. We will inform you about the date and the program in due time. | 1.7.2006 | SECOND HORIZONTAL FURNACE OPERATINGOne month guarantee for fire tests is possible due to starting of second horizontal furnace. At this moment we can provide fire tests on three test furnaces:• 1 vertical furnace (3 x 3 x 1,3) m • 2 horizontal furnaces (4 x 3 x 2) m Length of test furnaces can be made lower than 4 m, and height larger, up to 4 m. Both horizontal furnaces are identical (size, lining, load bearing construction). Advantages of two identical furnaces are obvious: • possibility to perform test shortly after order also in case of sophisticated products; • possibility to prepare two specimens at the same time; • time saving, shorter time of your workers during specimens installation; • greater flexibility planning test dates; • way of specimen mounting and installatioin does not change if test is moved to the other furnace; • possibility to prepare specimens in the furnace even if longer drying (conditioning) time of used materials is needed; |
| 1.5.2006 | ALL FIRE RESISTANCE TESTS UNTIL ONE MONTH - GUARANTEEDBeginning May 2006, we guarantee execution of tests until one month since delivery of the specimens for all type of fire resistance tests. Up till now, we have been able to guarantee this period of time for vertical specimens only.Obviously, this rule cannot be applied to specimens prepared by wet process which have to be conditioned for one month after installation. However fire resistance tests on such types of specimens are normally planned well ahead and are performed shortly after the required drying-up period. |
| 24.4.2006 | STATIC LOADING FRAME UPGRADED FOR TESTING HEAVY MASONRY WALLSTest equipment for testing load-bearing walls was upgraded to exert total force of 100 tons (330 kN/m).At the same time, number of load-bearing frames was increased so that several specimens of walls can be built at the same time, left to dry-up and tested one after another in a short time period. |

| 24.1.2006 | FURNACES RECONSTRUCTEDReconstruction of furnaces at regular intervals is more than a usual operation for us. It is rather an opportunity to implement improvements collected during the past interval. This time we decided to make some changes to both the horizontal and the vertical furnace:- change of lining - additional protection for long fire tests and enabling to use less heating power; - change of viewing ports; - change of horizontal furnace walls to make it more versatile; - improvement in the fixation of plate thermometers; |

| 2.1.2006 | AGREEMENT WITH RUSSIAN CERTIFICATION CENTRE CNIISK MOSCOWIn a wide range of construction products we can act as an entry gate to Russian market for European manufacturers. Based on an agreement with the private Russian certification centre CNIISK Moscow our laboratory can be used for performing all the necessary fire resistance tests needed for product certification in Russia in collaboration with CNIISK representatives. Advantages of performing all the tests in our laboratory instead of Russia need not be mentioned. |
